Gujarati actress Dimple Hingu commits suicide

SURAT: A Gujarati film actress and model from the city Dimple Hingu (25) committed suicide by consuming poison at her house on Lambe Hanuman Road in Varachha on Friday night.

The exact reasons for taking extreme step are not known.

She was shifted to a private hospital in a serious condition where she died on Saturday. Her body was sent for postmortem at Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research ( SMIMER).

Hingu started modeling in 2004 and featured in some video advertisements of local products. She also did modelling for sari and dress material products manufactured by city-based groups. She made her film debut in Gujarati movie 'Rangilo Ratnakalakar' in 2006 as lead actress. After that she did 'Mota Ghare Tenu Sasariyu' in lead role again. The movie is scheduled to be released in March.

Her father is a tailor and her mother a housewife.
